Hank Hill

King of the Hill, Season 2, Episode 13

In this episode the hard-working company man Hank Hill has to face deception by his long-time employer and icon, Buck Strickland after a series of shocking revelations. Grappling with the disintegration of what gave his life meaning, the paragon product, propane, and everything that went with it, he considers what else could be his purpose in life.

Hank Hill is known as a salesman of propane and propane accessories at Strickland Propane. Picture courtesy of MEL Magazine.

After toying with the idea of opening a general store, Hank is beset with the helpless pleas of former customers. Wave upon wave of men, women, and children in need wear on him and he realizes that propane was not the end itself, but the means to serve the people ("people before pennies").
